JAN LANKISCH
Tomlab / King Georg / Cologne

- SIC ALPS “Napa Asylum”LP and “Breadhead” 7″
I love those guys. i had them 3 times at King Georg and they deliver the purest and most direct form of “adult rock ‘n roll” to me. I think it’s not about watching a progress in music and see who’s doing something “new” to impress people. They just do i for being around. Smiling at me and playing some of my favorite songs this year (“Cement Surfboard“, “Low Kid”, “Jolly”, “Breadhead” and many more) i love them so much!

- R. Stevie Moore – “Clack” LP-Reissue and some more more songs i heard this year that are coming out soon
Meeting RSM is one thing i’ll never forget in my life. Seeing him and having a couple of shows with him this year was overwhelming. This guy combines the energy and freakyness that you can rarely find in adult people in such an intense and lovely way. This man makes it for me. On many levels. Pure energy and pure love.

- The Beach Boys – SMiLE (LP)
My life is complete now. I never ever thought this would become real. I was breathless when I first read it’s finally coming out. I was even more impressed hearing a lot of things I never heard before.

- Kurt Vile – Smoke Ring For My Halo (LP)
Fantastic album and memorable show at King Georg. I remember we got really drunk after the show and were running around town trying to destroy ourselves… Haha. Same a couple of weeks later at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. I love this man. So fun and a great unique songwriter of our time. Happy to see what he’s coming up with next.

- Ty Segall – “Goodbye Bread” (Title Song of the same titled album)
I like the album okay but I looove that title track a lot. I had a very fun day with Ty and the whole band at PS11 in Barcelona. I remember us freaking over seeing Pere Ubu playing “The Modern Dance”. That was one of the best moments of the year.

JUST NATHAN
Dancer / Chicago Boogie / Ghent

- Phonica Sonar showcase at Discos Paradisos Barcelona
Having no ticket for the sold out final day of Sonar, I ended up alone at Discos Paradisos, a small small but great record store in Barcelona.
Digging in the second hand records section, checking out dj sets from John Talabot, Soulclap (special 7″ dj set) and live sets from Daniel Maloso and Brandt Brauer Frick. Need I say more..

- Virgo 4 – It’s a crime (Caribou remix, Rush Hour)
Needs no words..

- Playing at Salon zur wilden Renate
A brilliant We Play House label night at Panorama Bar brought together some of Belgiums finest house dj’s in Berlin. The day after, we joined hands & records and did a “Belgian night” at the smallest room of the mysterious Renate. A club somewhere in between a fairytale and a squatting house.
We turned our small room into a sexy sweatroom, man what a night.. (Thanks to Red D, Jan & Jan!)
Tip: there is going to be another We Play House (San Soda & Red D) appearance at Panorama Bar on the 24th of Februari!

- Little Dragon – Ritual Union
Being a fan of Yukimi since Koop, I was happy to notice that, after two brilliant albums, Little dragon made an album that (accidently?) just perfectly fitted into the current musical time spirit. Seeing them perform in Barcelona and Brussels only made me love them more and more, mostly Yukimi of course :)

- Jeremy Glenn
The voice, the sound and a great person, Simpy love this guy!
