Holger Track #6 – ROMAIN BNO

Last saturday we had the honor & privilege to welcome Romain BNO to Brussels. Is he Paris’ best kept secret? Maybe… He is a resident at Club Silencio (you know, the club David Lynch designed) though, a vast endless well of musical knowledge, years of record selling, centuries of record hunting, a record collection that makes cracks in concrete buildings, an underground free radio show spreading the word of obscurity and a constant denial of all trends of fashion. We invited him to dj at the closing party for the Kunstenfestivaldesarts (the most un-Holgerian party we ever had and probably will ever do!) & the next day we sat down for this little podcast.

It’s probably my favorite Holger Tracks episode so far, as Romain guides us through some of the non-dance music that’s been moving and inspiring him. And it’s an utterly beautiful journey with a mix of krautrock, popcorn (with a special ‘dédicace’ to Belgium!) and ska, old Cuban recordings, a folkloric Romanian song and some of nowadays guitars, drenched in reverb. Give it a try, it’s a very rewarding journey.
